Re: Ambient Occlusion in Morrowind

I suppose we're talking about SSAO which is common in most modern games and would be possible in OpenMW. It's a postprocessing/multi-pass effect - I've been talking about bringing postprocessing into OpenMW some time ago and there have been threads here, such as this one . Basically we need to find ...

psi29a wrote: 05 Apr 2018, 13:27 The only time upstream code will become GPL is when GPL code is then introduced into the repo.
Then I guess you could always circumvent GPL by only ever storing diffs. So not quite convinced yet, but I'm leaving this issue for until I hear more opinions, let's keep it the way it is for now :)

psi29a wrote: 05 Apr 2018, 11:19 Is this necessary? Can we remove RenderComponent::~RenderComponent(); ? Doesn't the compiler do this for us?
I think it can be removed, C++ does this automatically. Probably something older C++ versions required or what MSVC just tolerated.

Re: XL Engine source code release!

The issue of licensing came up on GitHub so I'd like to also ask here: If GPL components were used in the further development, would it require our code to be GPL too, or could it stay MIT? I personally think it has to be GPLed, psi29a says that if we limit ourselves to dynamic linking, it can stay ...

That's an amazing job, I'm loving that LaTeX look. I'd really enjoy reading through this - let me know if you need a proofreader ;)

Re: XL Engine source code release!

Great stuff, I haven't played Daggerfall yet but would very much love to. Since Daggerfall Unity runs on, well... Unity... this seems like the only option to me. I'd be willing to contribute and play the hell out of this. Will be looking forward to GitHub link.

Someone has to mention this law though.

I got inspired by OpenMW

Very early stage project: https://github.com/OpenMafia/openmf It's a game that was made in my country and I used to play when I was little, now I'm trying to remake it with my friends. It may end up unfinished, but we're learning a lot and we can already offer a world-viewer and a set of tools for p...

Re: FCC Repeals Net Neutrality.

I'm a bit afraid if this can come to Europe as well? But at the same time I think it couldn't even work here, because we have many competing ISPs and even if net neutrality was abolished, any ISP that would offer neutral connection to the Internet would be preferred over the competition I guess, so ...
