Re: Support for Black Soul Gems
Sorry, it really should be up to mods to add black soul gems. Trapping NPC "souls" (which is a concept not present in the current ESM format by the way) is a significant gameplay change. Some legacy mods may rely on the vanilla handling of misc_soulgem_black ID and overriding the behavior ...

Re: BSA tool in rust
Going off-topic, but if we're going to enable bsatool, let's include esmtool as well, it can do some things OpenMW-CS can't.

Re: OpenMW 0.46.0
Status update: 1) The fix for the TGA issue has been submitted to OpenSceneGraph. Once it's there (or even if it's not or if it takes a while), I assume we can update OSGoS TGA readerwriter and add the necessary option string to OpenMW (0.46 branch and master) with little effort (I believe it's not ...

Re: OpenMW 0.46.0
Status update: 1) AnyOldName3 knows the reason for the alpha channel reading issue - basically the specific TGA file Is malformed - but it's not decided what to do with it; technically OSG's interpretation of the improperly set up alpha data as set up by AON3 is just as valid as Morrowind's. 2) Shad...

Re: OpenMW 0.46.0
We have received a "probably good to go" response from a Bethesda CM about running plugins from newer games and NIF files, as implied, but basically Zini believes there are still legal concerns over letting the general public run and show (and redistribute) assets from other games running ...

Re: OpenMW 0.46.0
There's no Oblivion file format support at the moment. Zini suggested to keep it separate for now.
(That said there's no "properly" usable Oblivion file format support for upstream OpenMW anywhere at the moment.)

Re: OpenMW 0.46.0
Here's the last release announcement revision I've prepared.
Engine release video is practically done and is expected to be finished by the time RC phase ends. Editor release video production hasn't started yet.

Re: Music at the start of a new game
We don't know for sure whether it was Bethesda's intention: it plays purely due to the privilege of not being reset deliberately (whether or not that was deliberate) when a new game is started from the main menu, but any music is reset and Explore playlist is used when you start a new game while you...

Re: OpenMW 0.46.0
Status update: 1) There seems to be an alpha channel reading issue in OSG 3.6.5 TGA readerwriter that is used for our modified 3.4.2. Waiting for AnyOldName3's input on that. 2) Shadow transparency fix is up, but untested (that's on me). 3) There's an optimizer issue that breaks NiCollisionSwitch's ...

Re: OpenMW Nightly builds
Like in most interfaces outside of the game, Tab changes the focused widget, there's no special functionality for the search fields, they just *can* be under the focus. To disable keyboard navigation, add this to your settings.cfg file: [GUI] keyboard navigation = false If GUI category is already pr...
