Re: Mouse cursor problem and failed exit
After playing around a bit, I discovered that starting OpenMW with Fullscreen OFF fixes the problem. OpenMW starts, runs with working "mouse look", and terminates without corrupting the KDE desktop. I am still leaning toward KDE being the problem (even though OpenMW is the only program I h...

Mouse cursor problem and failed exit
OpenSuse just pushed out a 200+ package update to KDE and it broke my OpenMW. I now have a mouse cursor when I am in first person view and I can't change which direction I am looking in (or which direction I am going). When I exit, I am left with an OpenMW item in the taskbar, but ksysguard shows no...

Urvel Dulni Won't Follow
The Morrowind “Shrine of the Dead” quest has a known problem with Urvel Dulni occasionally stopping and not following the player. Evidently, his script is broken. The UESP Wiki gives a number of simple ways to get him started again, which have worked for me in Morrowind. Unfortunately, in OpenMW, no...

Re: 0.38 abort with OpenSuse
Now you tell me.
Actually, I figured out what I was doing wrong myself late last night while trying to get the launcher to work. It helps when you run the scripts, game and libs all from the same version.

Re: 0.38 abort with OpenSuse
So, I figured out how to get .38 to work - bypass the launcher. It turns out that's what was crashing, not the game.
I have no idea why the launcher crashes. When I run it under gdb, it works fine

0.38 abort with OpenSuse
Is there anyone here who can help me get 0.38 running? 0.37 works great, but I can't get 0.38 to run. The generic pre-compiled binary from the downloads page installed OK, but when I try to run the game, it aborts right after I click "play" in the launcher. There is no new log, but the con...

Three Suggestions for Combat AI
1. The attached screenshot shows a Bonelord repeatedly blasting a skeleton in the back. While that was helpful at the time, I think it would be better if ranged attackers checked their target line for allies before firing. As well, NPCs (but not creatures?) should stay out of the target line of alli...

Re: Error: Can't write map overlay: no png readerwriter foun
Thanks, but I have it. It came with your pre-built binaries.
However, my problem was solved by today's 100 file update of KDE from OpenSuse. I have no idea which one fixed png, but I no longer get the message and my world map is being saved.

Re: Error: Can't write map overlay: no png readerwriter foun
Yes, but does anyone know which library? And no, I would prefer to avoid the "dependancy hell" of building from source. I've been there, done that, or rather tried to do that. The pre-compiled generic binaries work very well - with only a few minor issues that don't interfere with playabil...

Error: Can't write map overlay: no png readerwriter found
I am getting the subject error. Does anybody know what is causing it or what I need to do to fix it? It seems to happen when the game tries to write the world map. The map also doesn't keep changes from exploration after a save. I am using the 0.37 (b8abf71ff0) binary build from the downloads page, ...
