Re: OpenMW 0.45.0

And I see now that my build toolset has changed from the _xp one, so I guess XP support on these builds is basically guaranteed to not exist, used to build with the XP toolset though just because it didn't hurt to do so.

Re: OpenMW 0.45.0

Considering they're built with VS2017, using the new UCRT, it's a very tentative maybe. There's nothing explicitly preventing Windows XP support, but I can most definitely not guarantee that they'll work. Do we have someone with an XP VM who's willing to maybe give them a try, to be able to answer o...

Stop! We still have a regression!
Sorry, my bad.
Been building these basically offline due to net issues, missed the posts about the regression.

I'll do a round of proper RC1's (RC1.5s?) once the regression's been found.

Re: List of (other) FOSS game engine replacement projects

You have to remember that there were objects like showers and armchairs in the game, ones that would have to be drawn both behind and in-front of the 3D avatar at the same time when in use.
Including depth information just makes sense in that case.

Re: Hey let's switch away from bullet to anything else

I've heard good things about Newton (Game) Dynamics; http://newtondynamics.com/forum/newton.php
Zlib licensed so it should be GPL compatible.

Used in - for instance - Frictional Games HPL engine (Penumbra, Amnesia, Soma)

Would be neat if GOG could jump in on this train.
To be fair, it'd be neat if GOG could actually release Galaxy for Linux as well.

Steam Play (Proton) - Valve officially supports Wine

So Valve just decided to release an update to their Steam Play design, using a Wine packaging they've decided to name Proton. Steam for Linux now allows you to run every single Windows game through it, though the list of officially supported games is rather minimal now at first; Beat Saber Bejeweled...
