Re: OpenMW Nightly builds

Yeah, sorry. I've had to do a small change to the repo during the RC period, which means it hasn't been able to cleanly switch to the nightly build branch during that time. I should probably set up a separate OpenMW build environment for the RCs, but I honestly haven't had time to do that right now....

Re: OpenMW 0.45.0

The moment the release is tagged, release packages can be built - but at the same time distro maintainers will also start bumping OpenMW. So that starts a clock to get the release out before people become confused why they're on 0.45.0 while the official site reports 0.44.0 as the latest release.

Re: OpenMW 0.45.0

Another round of Windows RCs;

32-bit
64-bit

These ended up with the shadow DLL in them as well, forgot to clean up the release directory.

Re: Win 10 + OpenMW buggy and lags

I don't think Windows 10 itself is the issue here, the OpenMW builds that I produce are all built on - and locally tested on - Windows 10.

Have you installed the correct drivers for your laptop? It's possible that you're ending up rendering on the Microsoft provided software rasteriser otherwise.

Re: Changelog policy again

I've seen a couple of projects do changelogs by having a changelog folder, with small one-line markdown files for every change, that are then merged into a changelog file at release time.

Re: OpenMW 0.45.0

The NSIS installer is not really configurable enough to modify the setup pages themselves, we'd probably have to switch to wix to be able to do more customization in our CMakeList. At the moment, if you want to do anything more than the default installer then it requires modifying CMake itself and w...

Re: OpenMW 0.45.0

I actually looked this up back when I started doing the NSIS packages (After a comment / complaint by a user), and while you're required to provide the GPL to the user to inform them of their rights (like how we do as a LICENSE file in the installation directory), you're at the same time expected to...

Re: OpenMW 0.45.0

The problem is that the license field in the NSIS installer is only designed for showing end-user license agreements that you're required to accept to install the software, which doesn't fit with the GPL which is an open-source license.

Re: OpenMW 0.45.0

FOSDEM.. as in Brussels? And you didn't bother to ping me or pvdk so we can have a drink? Sadly the FOSDEM weekend was about as fully booked as possible, so I didn't even try to do anything more than run around on the conferences. Actually spent the Friday night hacking together slides for my...
