Re: Screenshots do not reflect the screen

All right, I now know what was the problem. My laptop is an MSI and there is a "MSI True Color" software inside that allows rendering and image settings. I managed to work out how to set one so that my OpenMW looks good. My problem is solved then; no more ultra dark interior cells! The problem is th...

Re: Screenshots do not reflect the screen

Also, bear in mind that OpenMW doesn't have gamma-correct tone mapping and instead uses linear light falloff where it should only use quadratic as old games like Morrowind pretty much all have a weird setup and we can't really use unaltered Morrowind assets without copying the system. Setting those...

Re: Screenshots do not reflect the screen

FWIW, those screenshots look fine to me, so I'd double-check that your monitor's set up correctly (check the monitor's and OS's gamma settings, the brightness/contrast settings, etc) so the screenshots look alright. Thank you for your help! This is something I cannot do, my computer is a laptop. :)

Re: Screenshots do not reflect the screen

Gamma is applied by the monitor (or video device as it sends the signal to the monitor), so it won't actually be part of the image rendered by OpenMW. Indeed, the screenshot shouldn't include the gamma adjustment since it's monitor/device-specific. The gamma is supposed to be for getting your speci...

Screenshots do not reflect the screen

Hi, To explain the title, take a look at the two screenshots below. They were taken with the "gamma" settings slider completely to the right. In game, the image is extremely bright but when I take the screen shots, they look like that; they do not record what I see on my screen. Any idea on how to f...

Re: OpenMW installation guide

Hi there, I had a little trouble installing OpenMW 0.42.0 because I couldn't find a proper guide for installing this great project. Install Mods: 1. Create Folder "Data Files" in the installation folder of OpenMW 2. Create a folder for the Mod you want to install (e.g. "Tamriel Rebuild") in Data fi...

Re: OpenTESArena 0.7.0 Released!

Wow, maybe I'll be able to play that game at last! :) I think a lot of other people are thinking the exact same thing. When I first started playing Arena a couple years ago, I was right on the brink of saying "Ehh... this game's too antiquated to bother with", but I decided to power through it, and...

Re: Living Cities of Vvardenfell

Thank you for the explanation. The nolore script is fuzzy indeed. It seems to make the npcs that have the script attached to them not say greetings default lines? Not sure that I understand clearly there though. :)

Re: Selection of mod compatibility statuses

I just noticed that something was missing: toggle sneak. On the MCP Wiki page , search for 'toggle sneak', the page details features implemented. Thank you for the link. I do not find the "toggle sneak" line in "Settings.cfg"; on the other hand, I've found the line in Settings Default.cfg". I'm add...
