Re: Beginners' questions: Understanding OpenMW/OpenCS code

Well, I'm kind of in a deadend with osg-code with my level of understanding. There's also some fundamental value in learning osg, so it wouldn't hurt to actually get some skills regarding that. I didn't write the code in the PR for osg, my skills regarding osg are still below that. The fix you menti...

Re: Beginners' questions: Understanding OpenMW/OpenCS code

Fixing https://github.com/OpenMW/openmw/pull/1769 requires some osg skills, so, any guidelines? Where to start? What do I need to know? Where's all the rendering code for OpenCS (or OpenMW)?

I've browsed through some osg code, and played a bit with osg examples, but that's all.

Re: Terrain Editing

Here's an early PR for terrain texture selection. It's mostly Plutonicoverkills code, but I built it to work with recent versions of OpenCS, and did some small improvements regarding coordinates calculations to get the feature working.

Re: Free-licensed game in OpenMW engine?

I used the template for the starters of a project like this, and I can say it technically works, but it seems that there still was some Morrowind-related there, like some menu layout graphics etc, hud graphics etc. I wonder how it would work without Morrowind installed... Anyway, it seems it's still...

Re: Terrain Editing

I collected previous work I had done for land shape editing here, just worked a bit to get it look more like the merged terrain texture editing. I think it's nice to have it public, so the code can be utilized later. Code might not be the prettiest, but it does work. https://github.com/unelsson/open...

Re: Terrain Editing

What would be needed for terrain selection? - Ability to click and drag-select land with primary select button, visual representation of selected terrain texture grid (green lines okay?) - Fundamental code structure so that also terrain shape grid can be selected Then what? - Ability to copy&paste t...

Re: Terrain Editing

Oh indeed, I can confirm this, default texture does bleed. I tested this in OpenMW and OpenCS. When seen it can't be unseen!

edit: This should be in bug tracker, care to file a report?

Re: Terrain Editing

It seems that this bug was fixed. "Landscape texture painting is misaligned" Was that related to the offset of terrain textures in north-south direction? https://bugs.openmw.org/issues/3876 There's some code that kind of hacks the worldspacehit to hit the correct coordinate in cs, and while editing ...

Re: Microsoft Buys Github for $7.5 Billion

Quite the news! Not much to add... It's interesting to observe how there are differing points of views here! I can understand the pro-Microsoft arguments like stability, longevity and "all companies are after money", but then, Microsoft has quite the reputation for non-friendliness towards open sour...
