Re: sources of 3D assets

Haven't yet went through all of these, but this is a thread we really need! Keep it coming! I'll be creating and posting some stuff later, but don't let that stop anyone from contributing. My current goal is to make something of a CC0 animated human model for just any generic project. Then a bank of...

Re: Using Wesnoth as a basis for Example Suite

Wesnoth as a world is cool! But it kind of runs into the same problem than the rest suggestions, how do we get good 3d models for it? I feel like having a set of 3d models is the greatest challenge, not to mention the animations for the creatures and the characters. I guess that nature assets and mo...

Re: OpenMW-CS Record Filter/Search Future

Can we have both somehow? Simple system as a default, then more complex filters for advanced users.

Re: Using Bliaron 2nd Ed. material for example suite

That is unfortunate, but I see the point. I don't think the license of the book will be opened further than CC-BY-NC-SA, but there might be a way to get some specific content to work with the example suite. And there's a synergy with using material from Robert E. Howard's Conan the Barbarian, as bot...

Using Bliaron 2nd Ed. material for example suite

I'm a part of a team creating Bliaron 2nd Edition , a fantasy tabletop role-playing game. We are publishing the game on 15th of May. There is a ton of fictive material, including creature art, as well Bronze Age themed fantasy buildings, characters, equipment etc. While the game as it is is copyrigh...

Re: Using Robert E. Howard's Conan and Kull as a basis for game

As I said, I can only speak of Finnish law, which should be in accord with conventions used in the EU. There is a clause stating that it's a reason to consider cancelling a right for trademark, if a trademark violates an earlier copyright. I don't know of any judiciary decisions with this, so there ...

Re: Using Robert E. Howard's Conan and Kull as a basis for game

It's true, it's important to think of the words we use, if we are referring to Conan the Barbarian or any other PD-content. I can strictly speak only of Finnish (EU) law... but.. It's good to note that "concept copyright" does not exist. It's true that the copyright extends further than just the nam...

Re: Are we able to create new game from scratch using just the CS?

I made a mushroom picking game.

Well, jokes aside, that's not totally independent, but the engine can handle a totally new game, but it still requires more than just using CS at the moment. It's not yet very easy yet. But we are getting closer and closer all the time.

Re: OpenMW 0.46.0

Since it complains about the missing libboost_system.so.1.69.0 I assume that you tried to execute the binaries directly. You have to run the included shell scripts (the files without the x86_64 suffix) as those set LD_LIBRARY_PATH to the directory with the libraries. You can also just create a file...
