Re: An Open Letter to the OpenMW devs

Thanks for the congrats! BTW, this is the mug in question: https://i.imgur.com/TYY2fx5.jpg Custom made. Favorite mug by far, couldn't ask for a better one! I likewise concur with your assessments. Though I can be a bit harsh with my statements at times, it's only because I so desperately want to see...

An Open Letter to the OpenMW devs

Dear OpenMW Development Staff, This has been something I've been meaning to do for a while, and it's about time I did it. There have been negative things said about OpenMW, such as "Lua/MWSE support isn't here yet" and "If this isn't on par with (input external program here) then it's not good enoug...

Re: A kind of crazy idea

Seems like making the mountain taller is a good idea. That begs the question, will OpenMW be able to handle this and do it via the editor?

Re: A kind of crazy idea

Red Mountain is a volcano with large caldera. It cannot be too high. At least within Earth geological logic. BTW what's the highest point of vanilla Morrowind? Given that there are some rather tall volcanoes in the world, going a bit bigger wouldn't be a bad idea. I believe that Red Mountain is ind...

Re: A kind of crazy idea

Hello everyone I tried to rescale map of Morrowind with the help of TESAnnwyn but did not succeed. Here's the description of the problem: https://www.tamriel-rebuilt.org/forum/vvardenfell-rescaled Details (Russian forum): http://www.fullrest.ru/forum/topic/41196-vvardenfell-rescaled-tehnicheskoe-ob...

Re: A kind of crazy idea

BTW, is there a way to keep mods that add things like city expansions and lighthouses from needing updated? Like, is there certain cell data they rely on to know where they are in the game that can be moved with the current cells? Or is that not possible? Not sure if that was worded in a way that c...

Re: A kind of crazy idea

Seeing Vivec from Seyda Neen is a big reason, or rather, seeing how small everything is, is a big reason. My original post, in all its madness, mentioned that it would help make viewing distant land and statics become smoother... or... what's the word... not as jarring. Seeing each city easily from ...

Re: A kind of crazy idea

I don't think anyone realized this, but if we make Vvardenfell 10 times bigger, the transportation cost for boats and silt striders will also increase. Basically 32 gold for Vivec to Balmora will become an insane amount (320 gold), so we must modify the GMST to keep the cost down. I do think 10X wo...

Re: A kind of crazy idea

I'd be down to upscale/re-landscape Morrowind and then manually fill it with random statics (plants, rocks etc.), provided it wasn't just me. Sure it'd be a ridiculous amount of work, but look how many mods there already are for MW that re-landscape the wilderness, add extra clutter to cities or fi...

Re: A kind of crazy idea

Visual for how much larger Morrowind would be if upscaled https://i.imgur.com/pD40hQD.png Needless to say, I think I agree that 2X would be the best way to go. Then again, that really depends on how many people would be down for modding this. If there was a way to move statics without doing it manua...
