I think you've mixed the images. The heartwood should look like wood (like in Bloodmoon), while Telvanni exteriors should have that green cover (which they lack after Bloodmoon).
There actually was a proper fix to the bug.

There was no free cam toggle in Morrowind and it's the same way in OpenMW.

So what can we say about "distant land", that it isn't feature complete? OpenMW's "distant land" via loading and rendering additional cells is slow as heck compared to the feature of generated LOD in MGE XE (yes, yes). Also, I imagine ungodly using of memory (preloading is still there) and possible...

Adding new magic effects needs a content file. And there's no point in adding dummy effects.
