Re: How to Debug in Visual Studio

I have it set to $(TargetDir), and that works too. At one point I investigated to see if we could get the build script to set this by default, but there wasn't anything clear that could be changed with the CMake files. Maybe eventually I'll try and do it in bash instead, but that's probably going to...

Re: Emoji in filenames

I've just done some meddling, and now I can't get the launcher to display emoji as a box (i.e. incorrectly) under Windows using a build based on the master branch, even when trying another computer. I'm going to assume that someone else fixed it since 0.42, where it definitely doesn't display emoji....

Re: Elder-scrolls IV Oblivion

.NET/Mono/Java are for making full programs, with runtimes offering a full range of capabilities that programs would need, which is far more than a scripting engine should have to worry about IMO. VBA is a scripting language that runs on .NET and isn't designed for writing applications. Scripts for...

Re: Principles and Vision

In the "let's be nice to each other" arrangement we have with Bethesda (which strictly speaking, we could probably deviate from, but practically speaking, they can afford more lawyers than us, so we shouldn't) we're not supposed to promote OpenMW features which show capabilities they don't like if ...

Re: Elder-scrolls IV Oblivion

I was aware my idea would probably be controversial. My fondness for .NET/Mono is because: The .NET CLI defines a very comprehensive way for different languages to talk to each other Mono gives us a single thing to hook OpenMW up with to get immediate support for a zillion languages (https://en.wiki...

Re: Elder-scrolls IV Oblivion

Whether or not they're useful immediately, Bison grammar files will probably be useful eventually. My 'dream' for future scripting support (which probably goes completely against what Zini wants) is that we write .NET implementations of all the languages we want to support and include Mono as a depe...

Re: [SOLVED] Mod : "content file does not exist"

They're supposed to work regardless of what characters are in the file names as long as they're valid Unicode. It's only because of a bug that it's not working properly on OSX (we might be supposed to call it macOS now). Under Windows and Linux, not only are you allowed accented characters, but also...

Re: AnKi 3D engine

There was at one time an attempt to make a Morrowind Original Asset Replacement, where all vanilla meshes, sounds, animations and assets like that would be remade by fans with a more open licence. It kind of fell through, though. If it were ever finished, then the new assets could be created in a wa...

Re: Emoji in filenames

I did a test where I forced the launcher to use a different font, and it started displaying emoji under Windows (but the whole font was changed). Does anyone know anything about how the default font is selected and which one it ends up being?

Re: [SOLVED] Mod : "content file does not exist"

I've done some investigation, and can't reproduce this issue under Windows or Ubuntu. We need a dev with a Mac to investigate further, or at least another user with a Mac to verify this and create an issue report.
