Moon Billboards and Alpha Support

From what I read about how the moons are handled in the documentation, it seems as though the alpha masks for each moon phase are unused. Right now OpenMW only uses reverb when under water. OpenAL EFX has support for a whole plethora of audio effects. Is there a possibility for reverb support?
