I have removed all mods from my openmw.cfg file, and it is starting up normally now. The next step will be to find out which one(s) of the 300+ mods I added to my game is causing the error. So it looks like this has nothing to do with either Kubuntu or OpenMW, but with a mod (or combination of mods)...

Just an update, I have updated from Kubuntu 21.10 to 22.04 and still get the same error.

Sorry, I should have been clearer. The issue happens with both the 0.47 release and the 0.48 nightly build. So it will probably be caused by something that was changed in my Kubuntu install. I'm using 21.10 and it has all possible updates installed.

This is an issue with the nightly build, so I guess it will be version 0.48? There have been several updates since the error started, one of them earlier today, but the error hasn't gone away. So maybe it will be something on my computer that could be causing this?

I recently updated my computer to Kubuntu 21.10. Installing and running OpenMW 0.47.0 went without problem, but after adding the repository for the daily build it does not recognise that there are newer versions available.
