Re: Is the game 100% completable ?
Is the White Wolf of Lokken plugin working? IIRC, Emma's technique of using leading numeric digits in variable names in scripts messed with OpenMW. I ask because haven't yet gotten my current character leveled enough to go there.

What I posted was not the crash log?AnyOldName3 wrote: ↑07 Nov 2023, 11:25 If you can figure out how to get rid of the error about GDB, then we could at least look at the crash log. Without it, there's no way to know what caused the problem.

Re: OpenMW 2023.04.10: crash on startup
An update. Now on a Linux From Scratch 11.3 system (before I was 11.2) I decided to fetch the stable pre-built binary and give that a try before I even think about compiling OpenMW. I used the 0.48 version referenced and linked in this thread . On a different version & install of the OS and a di...

Re: prebuilt binary of OpenMW 0.48 for x86_64 BLFS 11.3 system
Not sure why you only get the spinning loading circles on Github. Maybe some javascript blocker? Oh dear, that makes sense. I will have to investigate. Anyway here is a direct link to the download on github: https://github.com/OpenMW/openmw/releases/download/openmw-0.48.0/openmw-0.48.0-Linux-64Bit....

prebuilt binary of OpenMW 0.48 for x86_64 BLFS 11.3 system
Previously in my old BLFS 11.2 system, I'd compiled 0.47 and that ended up not working. Tracing the error was inconclusive and I lost interest. I finally decided to try out version 0.48 of OpenMW in my Beyond Linux From Scratch 11.3 system, but with the variant of using one of the official pre-built...

Re: OpenMW 2023.04.10: crash on startup
Here is 0.48 RC9: https://forum.openmw.org/viewtopic.php?p=73657#p73657 Just to verify that this works. For your crashy set of files, can't you just clone the repo again and not nuke the .git directory? Then see what the last commit is? Since my last attempt was on a directly-linked version, 0.48 R...

Here is 0.48 RC9: https://forum.openmw.org/viewtopic.php?p=73657#p73657 Just to verify that this works. That link worked. Thank you. Tried it on my LFS system and there is good and bad. The good is that the program started and it played sound correctly. The bad is that it crashed in the same way at...

Re: OpenMW 2023.04.10: crash on startup
Interesting... have you tried one of our flatpak RCs or generic linux builds? Just to first validate if they crash too? I finally got around to trying a "generic linux build." I started from the Downloads page on the OpenMW site. https://openmw.org/downloads/ I found links for "Ubunt...

Re: OpenMW 2023.04.10: crash on startup
The launcher should be a binary you build at the same time as OpenMW called openmw-launcher . Woops, I thought you meant some kind of git launcher thingie. I stand corrected. EDIT: rebooted to the LFS system and snapped a pic of the launcher, in the hopes that the information is there? Going to try...
