Re: What is THIS robe?
Just looks like a regular extravagant robe ( extravagant_robe_01_t ) to me. Unenchanted robes provide no practical benefit to the wearer and only differ in their enchant value, so it doesn't make any particular difference which robe he wears. In any case, the character in question is level one, and ...

Re: New forum software?
The problem is that using particularly single punctuation marks as tokens for a markup language inevitably causes text to be formatted in unexpected ways when the intent wasn't to format or pseudo-format the text (censoring words with asterisks is an amusing one), and the symbols we have on our keyb...

Re: New forum software?
The reality is that people just don't use forums that much nowadays. Sites like Reddit have essentially consolidated what used to be hundreds of thousands of self-hosted forums into one place, and the rest of the social media have taken over a lot of the places that forums used to. Forums really hav...

Re: Wanting to start my own reverse engineered game engine, but have concerns
To be clear, Anti-reverse engineering clauses are often unenforceable and not admitted in several legal jurisdictions Nevertheless, OpenMW and other game engine reimplementations that are disallowed from using/reverse engineering source code use clean-room design to comply with this restriction It i...

Re: Only official ESMs loading
Have you made sure the mods are enabled under the Data Files tab of the launcher? OpenMW supports multiple mod configurations, so mods are not automatically loaded just because it can see them.

Re: Which settings should be in-game and in-Launcher?
Wasn't the main reason any of these settings weren't in-game yet the lack of localisation? I thought the plan was always to migrate them when that was accomplished. The only problem with having lots of settings is creating presets so that users don't have to spend an hour ticking boxes, tinkering an...

Re: On Lua Scripting Limitations
I don't want to needless further a rather fruitless discussion here, but I do want to make the point that the security risks associated with unrestricted file and network access are not a remote , academic question that can be blithely dismissed. I'm not sure from the discussion whether the question...

Re: On Lua Scripting Limitations
I should also note that MWSE would be able to do everything I mentioned above, and I would also urge everyone reading this to consider the history of script extenders, which have been around for over a decade across various games (not just BGS titles). These features, while potentially incredibly d...

Re: Contact to the Administrator
Cloudflare addresses, apparently. The simplest thing I suppose would be to change the block message to explain that a lot of traffic gets routed through those addresses including a lot of spam.

Re: Translation Management and Community
I think Greendogo is referring to developing a localisation framework for content. I know Zini has talked in the past about de-hardcoding strings in the engine to allow localisations there as a (post-) 1.0 goal, which is certainly achievable, but content is a different kettle of fish. Localising con...
