We don't do occlusion culling, just view frustum culling. Excessive draw calls are a problem on the PC, too.
Ah yes I read that before somewhere. Is there any foreseeable solution on the horizon or anything that would mitigate this? It's just about the only problem I have with OpenMW on Android.

Re: Android part 2

No, it's not just your device, it can also happen on the PC. Android port uses OSG 3.6.4 which has broken backward compatibility of occlusion query nodes usage which are used for the sun glare. It can't use 3.4.1. Interesting, does this also affect culling? Because whenever performance drags on my ...

Re: Android part 2

One thing I've been noticing for a while with OpenMW that's missing on Android is any kind of glare/flare when you look at the sun. I was surprised to see it when I finally tried OpenMW on PC because I had never seen it on my phone. I've not seen it in anyone's OpenMW Android screenshots either so I...

Re: Android part 2

Figured out why no esp's and no esm's were being loaded. It appears that for some reason in my case, due to having a customized openmw.cfg file, I need to disable all entries in the OMW mod manager. After unchecking everything there (though it only lists the base game things) and choosing 'proceed a...

Re: Android part 2

Thx for the new update! One problem though: everything worked perfectly on the previous nightly but on this one, none of my esm's/esp's from openmw.cfg get loaded, the log doesn't even mention them. It does mention the directories and I think it does load the data but none of the scripts so I rolled...

the new openmw.cfg file is empty, with a message
# This is the user openmw.cfg. Feel free to modify it as you wish.
Ah awesome. If that's the case and it lets us specify extra data folders and content esm/esp's etc without the file resettling, all is good :D.

Re: Android part 2

While I haven't tried out the very latest APK's so I don't know if this has evolved since a few days ago, I thought I'd paste this comment here I saw on Reddit since xyzz said he'd take it into account if there is more demand for it: "The new Mod section seems like a downgrade to me. Or I don't get ...

Re: Android part 2

] Yes you can edit openmw-base.cfg for now. I'll consider adding support for multiple data folders if there's reasonable demand for it. By the way, I suggest making backups of your configuration files (and savedata) if you have a lot of mods set up. Until the app's released on google play/etc I con...

Re: Android part 2

@Loki0311 I also played this a few months ago on my Nexus 5X and the performance was about the same. Thing is, Nexus 5X has terrible overheating issues so pretty much every time you start a heavier app, it instantly heats the phone up and lowers the performance to stop the heat. It's not a gaming p...

Re: Android part 2

@xyzz I keep trying different ways to add my mods back but haven't found any way to make that work on the latest version any more. Just one or two versions back, I'd be able to just add more 'data=' lines to openmw.cfg and specify more mod folders but with this new mod selection system or seems edit...
