Re: OpenMW 0.48.0

Do the Windows RC builds not have bullet built with multithreaded support?

Re: feedback to 0.47 / bug report / feature requests

if what you're thinking was possible
Yeah I guess my habit of using "possible" instead of "simple" could get confusing, I admit it's a bad habit.

Also "corrected" the post.

Re: feedback to 0.47 / bug report / feature requests

No need to get aggravated
I actually wasn't aggravated, my questioning was meant to expose your intentions, And I think it did its job well ;)

Re: feedback to 0.47 / bug report / feature requests

I think you missed this part of my post: Keep in mind all of the OpenMW camera features that aren't vanilla are optional: https://openmw.readthedocs.io/en/latest ... amera.html Also make sure your game isn't patched with MCP and you not forgetting that, I think based on what you have been saying sho...

Re: feedback to 0.47 / bug report / feature requests

AbuMorrow, concerning MW glow maps: I believe what you refer to are glow effects, like the magic effect overlays, those are overlaid glow maps on a regular mesh. Glow maps are not bump (or „normal”) maps, glow maps are glow maps — they use regular full-colour textures and special color assignments ...

Re: feedback to 0.47 / bug report / feature requests

For the record OpenMW has better cell loading and preloading than in Skyrim and Oblivion (and obviously Morrowind), and the preloading is completely optional and has alot of settings which you can use to make it very seamless and have few to no loading screens during a very long play session: https:...

Re: feedback to 0.47 / bug report / feature requests

As for later Bethesda games, you're implying that OpenMW is not meant as „openMorrowind” but a general Bethesda-on-modern-OSes engine, and copying flaws of Oblivion and Skyrim and doing new visual tricks rather than bringing out a „perfected Morrowind” with full compatibility is a priority? What br...

Re: feedback to 0.47 / bug report / feature requests

Wouldn't it be sufficient to take the modder's manual of MWSE and implement functions which „look MWSE” to the script and do the same thing the OpenMW way? MWSE is a hack to bring Lua and extended scripting for Morrowind.exe and requires MGE XE and is specific to Morrowind.exe and MGE XE details an...

Re: feedback to 0.47 / bug report / feature requests

Now you're confusing vanilla Morrowind camera handling with some other game, Oblivion perhaps. Letting go of the vanity key doesnt' change your direction of movement in vanilla MW to where the camera is facing, the camera stays locked and you can watch yourself walking forward from the angle where ...

Re: feedback to 0.47 / bug report / feature requests

Keep in mind all the Morrowind bump map mods should work under OpenMW, you need to enable this setting: https://openmw.readthedocs.io/en/latest/reference/modding/settings/shaders.html#apply-lighting-to-environment-maps There are no normal maps mods that work under Morrowind.exe, if you think there a...
