Re: Is OpenMW playable?

Wow... with no intended sarcasm, that user seriously needs help. He/she seemed to be set off by having long-held misconceptions about the development of Morrowind's lore proven false, but such an extreme level of emotional investment in a video game is very worrying. In any case, thanks to lysol for...

Re: Is OpenMW playable?

In my experience as well, OpenMW (even in now-obsolete build 0.45, let alone the latest nightly builds) has already far surpassed vanilla Morrowind; not only does it have essentially all features of vanilla, it also fixes many, many vanilla bugs, adds several new features, and (some separate problem...

Re: Distant Lands and OpenMW

As another person who would love to see this feature, it's exactly as AnyOldName said, and always will be, especially with massive complex projects like this, but equally applicable to every single bugfix and new feature added: until someone steps up with the time and skills (or willingness to learn...

Re: COVID-19 Well wishes

Not only would it be impossible to rely on an algorithm to somehow reliably prevent such a pandemic from occurring, the human element (fear/panic, deceit - e.g. about recent travel/observed personal symptoms, political motivations to deflate/inflate statistics, ignorance (willful or otherwise), etc....

Re: COVID-19 Well wishes

Instead of that, they didn't plan anything and are reacting to things as they happen. This is unfortunately human nature (amplified among politicians, who are too often blindly self-serving, incompetent, or both), and was probably the most predictable outcome all along. I still fail to understand t...

Re: Mods That Respect Morrowind

As this topic - like so many others on the internet - has devolved into a series of long-winded rants and personal attacks providing no specific factual evidence or explanations regarding the existence of an alleged monolithic original lore, while ignoring facts already provided indicating such a co...

Re: take all action/MCP?

I myself would love to see this feature in core OpenMW (it was a staple for me back in the old Morrowind/MCP days), but I suppose this will need to be considered in more detail in the future.

Re: take all action/MCP?

MCP is incompatible with OpenMW, so unfortunately, you can't use them together. The OpenMW article at https://wiki.openmw.org/index.php?title=MCP, which appears to be regularly updated, shows the current status of the integration of features/fixes from MCP into OpenMW. You'll note that the "Allows y...

Re: OpenMW 0.46.0

Again as just someone sitting on the sidelines, I don't really see that the official release builds have been significantly more thoroughly tested for each included bugfix and feature than the nightlies, so I'll continue to mostly ignore these releases (other than reading the related news article/wa...

Re: OpenMW 0.46.0

As another non-dev, I'd greatly appreciate any info that could be shared as well. For the past year at least, it seems Capostrophic and akortunov have been submitting practically all of the pull requests on git, with any issues assigned to other devs not showing progress. This isn't at all to ignore...
