Yeah, I also didn't think ECLD is very relevant to graphics - the fact that the screenshot above was with all bells and whistles (including shadows) and view distance at 66666 is HUGE. I understand stability and performance will still need a lot of work, but seeing this in 0.47 is a very, very nice ...

Distant statics might be merged in the 0.47 cycle? This would be incredible!! I had thought from this and other forum topics (e.g. https://forum.openmw.org/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=4621) this might take years assuming a dedicated developer had the time, skills, and interest to develop this - viewing dist...

The "merged plugin" (Unofficial Morrowind Official Plugins Patched.ESP) includes all of the individual plugins ("AreaEffectArrows.esp", "master_index.esp", etc.) and makes them unnecessary. You only need those four data file folders and the one merged plugin loaded for the mod to work.

In my experience as well, OpenMW (even in now-obsolete build 0.45, let alone the latest nightly builds) has already far surpassed vanilla Morrowind; not only does it have essentially all features of vanilla, it also fixes many, many vanilla bugs, adds several new features, and (some separate problem...
