Original-style ranged sneak attacks

Is there any chance of restoring ranged sneak attack damage as it was in the original game (1.5x damage rather than 4x), at least as an option? For someone who likes to play stealthy archers the increased damage eliminates a lot of what challenge there was in the game, as most enemies can be one-sho...

The macOS RC4 works fine for me, including a fair amount of gameplay and a little use of the CS.

I hadn't pinned down just what was different, but now that it's pointed out--the macOS version also performs as drakovyrn describes.

The macOS RC2 worked fine for me on an iMac, including chargen and more playtesting than I should probably have done on a work night. The CS also runs and browsed through scripts and objects in a couple of plug-ins without problems.

Thanks Atahualpa, that clarifies the issue. I wonder whether the original game's 1.5x was more balanced, even if it's not clear why it was implemented the way it was. It's so easy to make sneak attacks with a ranged weapon that 4x is really powerful. I guess I could stop sneaking if my sense of fair...

Another change I am noticing in the RC (mac OS), is that it's now possible to do critical damage with a bow, from any distance. This makes it trivially easy to one-shot many enemies since there's no need to get close enough to risk detection. Is this intended? I didn't see it listed in the highlight...
