Re: The Summer in Review: June-July-August 2020

Look I get what you're saying. But I guess it's just a difference in opinion. I'm a fan of licenses like MIT, Apache, BSD, cause of the freedom they offer. I consider GPL to not be a truly free license, due to the fact that it puts restrictions on the use of the GPL-licensed content. There is no &q...

Re: The Summer in Review: June-July-August 2020

That isn't what happened, Ryan was contracted to port SDL2 to Switch, that isn't reverse engineering. He provides the source for those who request it and it's up to the end user to abide by their NDA. So his work isn't reverse engineering but asking him questions about the implementation then makin...

Re: The Summer in Review: June-July-August 2020

Update: I did do a bit of research on SDL and Nintendo Switch and came across this: https://wiki.libsdl.org/Installation#Nintendo_Switch As for SDL2 on the Nintendo Switch, Ryan (Icculus) ported SDL2 to the Switch and you can just drop your SDL2 game into the Switch, and it "might just work&qu...

Discussion regarding OpenMW's licence – GPL vs MIT, etc

if this engine is ever going to become the FLOSS RPG game engine it strives to be Unfortunately that just won't ever be truly possible with OpenMW's current license (GPL). If someone wants to make their own RPG using OpenMW's engine, they can release it on steam, and google play, no problem there. ...

Re: Elder-scrolls IV Oblivion

Nah, it's my own unrelated endeavor, which is probably going to be completely different underneath, but at least totally mergeable. In some distant future. I checked your code, noticed your also adding support for other Non-Bethesda Nifs like Civ4, might want to check out SMT: Imagine, and Catherin...

Re: Elder-scrolls IV Oblivion

This is great, though why do some of the textures look weird, and when you went in the interior cell, why is half of it blue ?

Re: The Future of OpenMW Scripting

I'd personally say go with B), deprecate oldscript, but keep it to support mods that use it, and only update it to fix bugs. Then work together with MWSE-Lua to create a common API.
