Re: OpenMW Roadmap Update
Great to see the team taking such a bold stance on the direction of the engine. I am looking forward to seeing where this project goes from here. I am wondering though. Any chance we could get support for Isometric 2D sprites? I think adding this feature could allow a tremendous amount of creative f...

Re: morrowind download file problem
This doesn't really solve the issue, but is a workaround I used when running PopOS and Linux Mint. (didn't need WINE as I happend to have a backup of my Morrowind install for mod testing on a portable hard drive) if you have a laptop with windows, or can make a windows patrician and boot to it, you ...

Re: Understanding Morrowind's Asset Issues
I would be really surprised/impressed if it was skill and not time that is lacking in the people developing OpenMW. I mean, to get this far without knowing how modern games and/or software is designed, as well as being familiar with older methods (like those used in Morrowind) of software developmen...

Re: Framerate Issues
In the first image it looks like your physics processing is pretty high. You might try using the "RA" command in the console. It resets actors (NPCs). What has happened to me a couple times is they get themself's in a weird place or on top of an object and it causes tons of collision detec...

Re: Understanding Morrowind's Asset Issues
Was thinking about this some more, and had another question. Is it in theory possible to multi-thread draw calls? My assumption is that its not. I can imagine too many edge cases. Like what happens if 2 or more draw calls are finished and sent to the GPU on the same CPU cycle. Another issue I could ...

Re: Understanding Morrowind's Asset Issues
Thanks for the detailed response. Its good to hear there are still methods of offloading some of the work from the CPU.

Understanding Morrowind's Asset Issues
I have been poking around the forums and reading up a little on some of Morrowind's performance problems. One of them as I understand it, is how its assets were designed. The way they were designed causes a ton more draw calls then the way a modern game would design assets (even though they often ar...

Re: OpenMW on Raspberry Pi 4 Manjaro Linux
Was wondering something similar today myself. Hadn't bothered to look into it yet though. I wish you the best of luck. Will post again if I figure it out.

Re: Portals to interiors (post 2.0 feature)
Damn that's awesome. It would probably look really strange in some occations though since the interior room can sometimes be a lot bigger than the house you actually enter in Morrowind. It could be hand waved with a reference to some kind of amazing wizzard who only can cast spacial magic being con...

Re: OpenMW History and Timeline
Just wanted to pipe in and say, as someone who has only known about the project since 0.38.0, I find the history shared so far pretty interesting. So for what my anecdotal evidence is worth... I think this is a great idea. Slight aside. Really glad I learned about the project when it was so far alon...
