Re: OpenMW and the Raspberry Pi

Ah, okay. It'd just be awesome to have Morrowind on my portable pi zero box. Anyway, I might try it. But, is it possible to run OpenMW without a desktop environment (from the CLI)? Since that's how my retropie box is set up. And it saves some RAM as well. Oh, and what's that -O?

Re: OpenMW and the Raspberry Pi

May I ask why I need a pi with at least 1GB of RAM? Is OpenMW the "problem", the VC4 driver or are the textures too big? Since I guess one could theoretically downscale them to save memory.
Also, could someone test how performance is at 320x240?

But you can't use combinations.
Thanks for the quick answer!
But, what do you mean by "keypad"? And are combinations a thing you could add?
Also, what about the menus, will the mouse be moveable via keyboard keys there as well?

Re: OpenMW on the Raspberry Pi Zero

(I hope it's alright to resurrect this topic) Okay, I've found a few tutorials that detail how to get the VC4 driver running on the zero. But before I attempt that, does anyone know if there's a way to shrink all or at least the most important of OpenMWs controls to 12 keys (+ combinations)? I'm spe...

Re: OpenMW on the Raspberry Pi Zero

The problem is the amount of textures that have to be loaded at once putting pressure on the shared memory used. 512 MiB is shared with the GPU, so the CPU is loading in land/NIFs/other bits while the GPU is loading in geometries and textures. It is quite possible that while switching from one cell...

Re: OpenMW on the Raspberry Pi Zero

Thanks,
I'll give that a try soon(-ish).
Altough I think the VRAM and also performance might be less of a problem for my Zero since it's only got a 320x240 screen (it's a handheld) and it might be able to handle that at acceptable performance.

Re: Mod Translation giving "Size Mismatch" error

YAY!
After a bit of fiddling around with MWEdit, I got the mod to load and it's working just fine!
(At least there are no errors related to my translation anymore.)
Thanks!

Re: OpenMW on the Raspberry Pi Zero

That's very helpful, thank you.
Would you mind pointing me to a guide to set up OpenMW on the B+ (which I can adapt for the Zero then)?
All I've found so far was related to the Pi2 and not that helpful.

Re: Mod Translation giving "Size Mismatch" error

Thanks!
Would there be any way to edit that value manually?
