Update: After reinstalling Morrowind and downgrading to OpenMW 0.40.0 the problem is completely gone.

Lag Spikes
Every 100 feet or so, and after I exit dialogues or an NPC begins to speak my FPS drops to 0 for a second or two, usually not cutting out sound yet sometimes doing so. I can't play the game like this--it's completely unbearable. Other than the lag spikes, my computer runs the game at around 100 fps....
