Re: A tale of two MP mods - openMW/TES3MP and Skyrim Together

Well, it'll still be under the GPLv3, meaning OpenMW can cherrypick whatever it wants from it Not everyone's work is tidy enough to cherry pick. If they go full-on Let's squash all commits between each release so we're technically following the GPL because the source is available but it's a barrel ...

Re: A tale of two MP mods - openMW/TES3MP and Skyrim Together

At first I wasn’t a fan of using the Skyrim drama as a way of gaining more support, but Jesus, what a shit show. I had not realized the extent of it. I see it as a bit of a strategic opportunity. I mean, what's the worst that can happen? People refusing to help? That's not any worse than not reachi...

Re: A tale of two MP mods - openMW/TES3MP and Skyrim Together

Of course. All of the stuff directly useful and relevant to core OpenMW should be implemented in it instead, and the experimental branches should remain in constant contact and cooperation with OpenMW.

Re: A tale of two MP mods - openMW/TES3MP and Skyrim Together

I believe the last thread was the reason why we had the thread here: OpenMW: The Way Forward, someone read these and got excited. Nope, DassiD confirmed he hadn't seen those. He had just independently come across cc9cii's videos. The way I see it, we should encourage Skyrim and Fallout fans to help...

Re: OpenMW: my thoughts on the way forward

Don't take it too personally, you happened to come in at at a time after a number of similar (and at times heated) discussions were already had and your well intended comments turned into discussions on unexpected directions. For a project looking for more participants this forum sure can be hostil...

Re: OpenMW: my thoughts on the way forward

This is why I’m bringing it up, because you’ve already done a lot of work in this direction. There's nothing necessarily wrong with your suggestions; it's just that you present them in a way that ignores too much of the context. To show you how it's done, here is a well-received post I made on r/sk...

Re: OpenMW: The way forward

My idea for a new vision is not an engine for either Morrowind or indie RPGs, but an engine for all elder scrolls games. [...] Transforming OpenMW into OpenES will make sure to community has an engine it can trust for great graphics, convenience and proper mod support. Are you sure it's your idea? ...

Re: Connection Lost Error

Interesting. So, despite seemingly being able to connect to your external IP through the server browser, you kept being disconnected after a short while when doing so, but had no more problems when you just connected to localhost. That seems like a rare problem with NAT loopback . At least you can p...
