Re: Proposal for getting this project done

No, I'm saying that it provides a way to show off the power of OpenMw. This engine isn't something revolutionary, but if you solve something that is considered to be the most common problem with Morrowind you will show off this engine in its best light. I would LOVE improved combat. We await your c...

Re: Proposal for getting this project done

If we're thinking of it as just a tech demo we should figure out who we're targeting. Sole indie developers? Indie teams? The public? For the sake of this post I will assume we are trying to attract modders to make content for OpenMW. Let's look at what many would argue Morrowind's main flaw to be: ...

Re: Story draft version 2

Apologies for lack of activity, been busy working on school stuff and will be for a few more weeks. I envision the example suite being more of a Vertical Slice, a Vertical Slice is a literal slice of gameplay usually 30 mins - 1 hour long that provides a small idea of what the main ideas of the game...

Re: Proposal for getting this project done

I should clarify, by using assets from Morrowind I mean only in terms of placeholder ones, nothing released in a press fashion will have Morrowind assets. Sure, someone could come into this forum and see them but we never publicize anything containing morrowind assets. I understand if people have di...

Re: Proposal for getting this project done

Nice, was waiting for someone to take charge. Let´s see where this goes. Btw. If you decide to use placeholder assets, then I highly suggest you use ones from here https://forum.openmw.org/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=3520 and not from Morrowind because Bethesda will very likely file a DMCA claim and f...

Re: Story draft version 2

Amnesia is too much of a cliche here, we can simply have the PC go "I came here to escape life." and leave it at that, it hints towards a backstory but still has the character be mainly player-defined. Game still starts on a boat, a homage to the original Morrowind. Magic I'm not sure if I...

Proposal for getting this project done

So, I figured since I don't really see any obvious leader I figured I'd post up my proposal for how I think this example suite can become a reality. There is currently too much focus on asset creation. The creation of assets--while important--can be delayed by using assets from either Morrowind or e...

Re: Story draft version 2

Hi, So, I've been lurking for a while and I have a story concept that I think is interesting for both the narrative aspect and the gameplay aspect, after all, that's what matters. The story is somewhat an adaption of Othello--making it a classic tragedy--it is set in our world, so no magic. The isla...
