Re: How to create a new topic at forum.openmw.org ??

They're not people. They're bots. Originally what later turned out to be a bot opened this thread plausibly asking why posts weren't becoming visible to the public, which isn't an unreasonable thing for a human to ask as sometimes things are stuck in the moderation queue for getting on for a day, so...

Re: Regarding file/directory name case

You don't have to have multiple data directories for different parts of the same mod if you don't want to do it that way. It's less likely that that will cause you problems (as a given mod author probably isn't switching case between different versions of the same directory they made), and if it doe...

Re: VulkanSceneGraph

We don't have the manpower to maintain two rendering backends, let alone do the port in the first place. We'd have to drop OSG support in favour of VSG support and that would mean OpenMW would become incompatible with lots of hardware it currently supports. It's not a matter of when VSG supports wha...

Re: Regarding file/directory name case

Don't install more than one mod to one directory. This exact situation is one of the main reasons we have the virtual/multiple data directory system in the first place. If you have one mod per directory, provided you've not put OpenMW into strict filesystem mode (which doesn't work with Morrowind an...

Re: Which settings should be in-game and in-Launcher?

I said this on Discord yesterday: My preference is that things we think people are likely to need to meddle with should be in the launcher (so normal people can set the game up in one go instead of partly in the launcher, partly in the in-game menu, and partly in settings.cfg), and then things that ...

In case you're not the same person, or this post shows up on Google for someone else in the future, I'm attaching the Discord conversation from when someone had the same/a similar problem earlier today:

The first post is gone as the user was a bot and had ads in their signature. They slipped through the net as they were reposting past posts.

Re: White screen not responding at launch

My first guess given that you're also having issues with the original engine would be that something might be wrong with your OS install or graphics drivers. I'd suggest reinstalling the graphics drivers and doing an integrity check on Windows - that can be done pretty easily by right-clicking on th...

Re: Interesting issue when swapping between versions of OpenCS

Have you reported an issue for the NPCs thing? If not, that'd be a bad regression to have in the 0.47 release.

Re: OpenMW ARM64 + AMD GPU = Random Crashing

If the display driver crashes, that's almost certainly the display driver's fault. Even if we're doing things we're not allowed to, OpenGL is specified to generate error messages rather than crash.
