Re: OpenMW 0.48.0

Early on, the features were simpler and interacted with fewer other features, so they had less chance of landing broken, and had less chance of breaking other things. They wouldn't have needed as long to mature.

Re: Installing On Linux Mint

is it safe to uninstall the game from Steam now or is the native Linux version still using all those files? OpenMW will be using those files, but you could copy them elsewhere and point it at the copy if that's what you want. What's the difference between OpenMW Launcher & Flatpak? Our launcher...

Re: OpenMW 0.48.0

Object paging was big, so obviously took it a while to finish regression hunting, but with smaller features like the alpha testing rework and async physics we were still fixing issues in the RC stage. If releases get too close together we'll miss regressions, so will need more time feature-frozen to...

Re: Installing On Linux Mint

You actually can install regular Morrowind through Steam as it'll use Proton (basically a Wine fork) to play it, then you can either copy the game installation out of a Wine-managed part of your filesystem and point OpenMW's setup wizard at the copy, or point OpenMW directly at the Steam install. Th...

Re: Understanding Morrowind's Asset Issues

OpenGL only lets you interact with a context from one thread. There's not actually too much that needs drawing in a specific order, so a far-future hypothetical Vulkan port would be able to get some kind of performance boost, but it wouldn't be a silver bullet on its own.

Re: OpenMW 0.47.0

Ace hasn't got around to building RC5 yet and then it became evident that we'll need an RC6 anyway, so it's less of a rush. Different people make the RCs for different platforms, and it's just a matter of when they've got some free time that determines which happen when.

Re: Portmod - Mod Manager

You actually can get static direct download links via the premium API, but I think you need to have a session cookie for the user who used the API to generate them, so they're not the most useful thing in the world.

Re: Can't seem to install "Morrowind Enhanced Textures" mod with OpenMW (+ Steam edition + Tamriel Rebuilt)

The data files tab confusingly shows content files, not data files, as it's inherited the name the original Morrowind launcher used for its equivalent window. MET doesn't provide content files, so won't show up in that list even when it's working.

Re: Lua API for GUI

I brought that up when we were discussing the Lua threading model, and ptmikheev responded in some way or other, so he might have a plan already.
