Re: When will it no longer be necessary to manually edit openmw.cfg to list mod data?

In the meantime, you can use Mod Organizer 2's OpenMW Export plugin to fill in openmw.cfg for you. If you're on Windows, it works just fine, and also lets you use tools like MLOX and let them see OpenMW's VFS. If you're on Linux, then MO2 can be used under Wine, but its VFS won't work (it will work ...

Re: Get OpenMW on Steam

SKSE and Enderal, which are Skyrim mods, have managed to get on Steam. It makes it easier for people with no modding experience to install them, and (in the case of SKSE) potentially makes them look more trustworthy to sane people who are a little bit sceptical about putting random DLLs on their mac...

Re: Rebase pull request before merge into master

I'm generally against rebasing for long-running PRs. If it's something really small that was forgotten about for months, so can be rebased as a single commit, that's fine, but it's an operation that rewrites history, and doing it for something like my shadows PR that needed to adapt to several cases...

Re: Compiling on Windows (VS2017)

I've had this working on pretty much fresh Windows installs before, so I'd be inclined to assume something's installed incorrectly or you've installed the wrong version of something (or multiple versions and a dodgy version is taking precedence). The VS 2017 used to sometimes do dumb stuff and need ...

Re: Automate or Expedite Normal Map Conversion

There are at least two Python scripts that do it automatically floating around the internet. I don't have links.

Re: What's your favorite in-game book?

The vampires in works where women find the vampires attractive are made to seem attractive. That's like wondering why men like elf women in things with sexualised elf women - you put attractive characters in a thing and people will find them attractive.

Re: Local Variable on items you have two or more of not working correctly in OpenMW

You can build it yourself, or download a nightly. I don't know if we have nightlies that work specifically with Manjaro (it's based on Arch, and I know we've had problems with Arch packagers using the wrong versions of our dependencies), but our generic Linux and Flatpak nightlies should work.

Re: Resolution Not Saved

Unless you're having performance problems, it's better to run at your native resolution and scale the UI. OpenMW's performance doesn't get much worse as resolution increases, and it looks better if you don't upscale things. We should probably change things so you can use a non-native resolution in f...

Re: Resolution Not Saved

We might be doing something atypical like querying the maximum resolution and using that if fullscreen is on. Are you using a monitor with the same resolution as it keeps choosing, or do you have a GPU driver option like virtual/dynamic super resolution turned on?
