Re: Postprocessing

If we wanted to just add a single postprocessing effect to OpenMW, the basic process would be to: Switch main rendering from the default framebuffer to a FBO. Add an extra rendering pass to render a fullscreen quad to the default framebuffer. Set up a shader to colour in that quad that can see the m...

Re: Latest nightly as of July 8th 2019 - didn't include my games/openmw/data

C:/Users/me/my games/openmw/data should be added automatically as a data directory by the install directory's openmw.cfg where it says data-local="?userdata?data" When the engine is started, it combines all the data= lines in the install directory's openmw.cfg and the user directory's openmw.cfg , ...

Re: How to script the difficulty?

OpenMW only has MWScript - the experimental Lua and Python bindings were only a proof-of-concept and weren't very useful, so never got merged. You can either implement what you want in MWScript (which may turn out to be difficult or impossible as it's generally considered to be an awful language wit...

Re: Documenting Xbox UI differences from PC

I guess that's probably fine, although there's also the thing about Bethesda not wanting us to support non-PC assets on PC, which, while not legally-binding, might encourage them to lawyer-up and go looking for things they can nitpick. In terms of a practical gamepad input scheme, there are plenty o...

Re: Documenting Xbox UI differences from PC

Are those custom-made textures/images that you're linking or are they original game assets? We're definitely not allowed to have links to them here if it's the latter, so please remove them immediately if so. If you've not confirmed that they're actually safe pretty soon, a moderator will remove the...

Re: rebirth meshes still used without rebirth?

In the MO2 plugin, you'd just uncheck the mod in the left pane and run the exporter again.

Re: Are these known issues? (NPCs/Companions)

(1) is caused because the idle animations for these NPCs don't end in the same place they started, so they gradually work their way towards the edge of the platforms they stand on, then they can't get back up because they weren't expecting to have moved. I was under the impression that fixed animati...

Re: Failure to save with "Write operation failed (memory stream)"

It says it was merged at 10:08 AM in my timezone, and I was under the impression that nightlies were built later than that.

Re: rebirth meshes still used without rebirth?

Did you just deactivate the ESP/ESM without deactivating the data directory? Just deactivating the plugin file won't completely deactivate the mod. Any new locations or quests or weapons etc. will be missing from the game, but mesh and texture replacers will still be active.

Re: Failure to save with "Write operation failed (memory stream)"

If you'd been on Linux, there's a crash catcher that can get a stack trace on a regular build, but you need PDBs and a debugger attached on Windows. If you're willing to build RelWithDebInfo (or Debug if you're happy with single-digit framerates) yourself, http://wiki.openmw.org/index.php?title=Deve...
