I am not sure about that, but I think games in general can't really make a big use of multithreading, there will always be one core doing most of the work. From what I understand, this is because most of the game process is inside one big "while" loop which receives the input from the cont...

I can confirm Raevol's observation on my laptop (i7-4700MQ, GTX770M, Windows 8.1). Disabling shadows increases my FPS from 22 to 45 indoor (in front of Jiub), and the water shaders are also very demanding.

Very nice to hear that, it was a bit sad to see what happened to SandStranger, I'm glad he joined the project
It's also good to hear about the AI improvements (somehow this is not visible in the public section of the forum, as opposed to the work on the editor for instance).

Keep in mind that OpenMW hasn't really been optimized yet, and performance is usually pretty bad for most people (for now).
It would be useful if you could describe the problem a bit better, maybe include your FPS indoor/outdoor to give an idea of the performance?

That's very good to know, I actually thought there would be more testers on windows. I will also try to give a hand with the windows release then.
