VulkanSceneGraph

Has there been any analysis on the required feature set for porting to VulkanSceneGraph? Are any features lacking which would make porting difficult? At a glance, I don't see any out-of-the-box support for MyGUI in any of the plugins, but there is an ImGUI plugin which could be used as a template. I...

Re: Hey let's switch away from bullet to anything else

Just to throw it out there, nVidia just open sourced PhysX , under the simple BSD-3 license. Should be usable by GPL apps, though I can't say anything about the API or how easy it is to use. PhysX 4.0 came out today, also open source. https://www.phoronix.com/scan.php?page=news_item&px=Open-Sou...

Re: The Future of OpenMW Scripting

C# is actually free and open source these days, and an ISO standard. Unity uses C# for scripting. I find it to be an elegant language, with wide support, and great performance. Other possibilities would be Julia or javascript. Javascript obviously has tons of coders, and a large number of libraries....

Re: Performance Questions (Tips Welcome!)

Vurt's mods tend to kill FPS pretty bad.

Also setting water reflections to off in the video quality settings tends to help a lot.

The spell filter textbox could use a "placeholder" label that says "Type to filter" or something

Re: Benchmarks

It uses a Streacom FC9 case (the one without an optical slot), which means that it is totally passively cooled. Streamcom cases are so epic! :D I'd love to have their DB4 for a multimedia setup! Quite impressive benchmarks indeed for a passively cooled system :) It's either a striking coincidence o...

Re: Dark Brotherhood Attack and Guards

I also notice much higher frequency of attacks with OpenMW, for what it's worth. I do think there's a bug here.

Re: Principles and Vision

I think this is too limiting. I am working on re implementing Oblivion's script engine right now (the lexical analyzer atm), there are functions implemented in Oblivion but not in Morrowind, those couldn't possibly be compatible with Morrowind. I believe mixing game assets is not allowed by Bethesd...

Re: Principles and Vision

Truly Zini and Scrawl are the two people whose opinions will be the primary deciding factor, since nobody else has been of this much help since Nicolay's comparatively brief role as originator of the project. I have immense respect for both. I became worried when an older post was necromanced in whi...
