Re: Asset Update to Ogre3D Discussion Thread

Personally I think it's a waste if the vanilla textures are used. Their color palette and style of should obviously be used, but not the textures themselves. They can of course be used as placeholders, but in time they do need to be replaced IMHO. Not only because they're low res, but, as Pherim is ...

Re: Matt Grandstaff and Android Development

Very nice, it feels like I'm going to respect Bethesda more now after I read through this conversation.

Re: Matt Grandstaff and Android Development

They use platform to mean type of system, very vague on their part. For them, any machine that can run Windows is a PC, this includes Apple systems these days as well since they run on i386/amd64 architecture. They understand that OpenMW is architecture agnostic, so we could run on any platform out...

Re: Updating original assets to Ogre3D

Here's the thing - OpenMW is an engine that can run morrowind, but it is totally possible to make a whole new game and run it in the openmw engine. To demonstrate this (and to get openmw to be downloadable directly through various Linux distributions), they are planning to make a simple example game...

Re: Some feedback on v0.31

Did you take the original soulgem out? This quest worked for me at the weekend on latest stable release. I did, but according to UESP that shouldn't matter. The only thing that happens if you do it is: "If you steal the soul gems from her desk, she will think all soul gems you own belong to he...

Re: Some feedback on v0.31

First bug report from me. It's actually a bug that was discovered a year ago and fixed, but I ran into it anyway. Wrote a comment in that bug report, but I don't know if it pops up a note for you devs if someone writes a comment on a fixed bug report, so I'm posting here just in case. https://bugs.o...

Re: Some modeling/animation questions. Offering RDP Renderin

So, in quick notes - I`d forget about better bodies, and my redone heads series, and current armor/robes/clothes replacer. Scrape it ALL and start anew. But later, much, much later, once OMW gets past 1.0 version and we know for a fact what exactly we have at our disposal, what new skeleton we`ll b...

Re: Updating original assets to Ogre3D

I agree with what Bahamut said, we should start with interior statics, containers, misc items, flora, then weapons, armors (most of it could be already done in other mods), then exterior statics (as they would require to be very precisely done (stones and rocks) with proper collision meshes and per...
