Installing 49 Dev (or daily)

Post by Cl3v3rP0tat0 »

So - installing the 49 Dev Version isn't as straight forward as following this:

I ended up with 48 Release - not daily/dev ?

Kind of a silly question, I know, but - daily builds in the PPA and on the AUR are *marked* as being 0.48 and not dailies. Perhaps this is affecting you also? Check the commit hash in the bottom-left of the launcher.

After installing - my launcher now says "OpenMW 49 Release"

If you build yourself, then the cmake git check will fail (because not a repo) and will default the the version declared in source.

The PPA will declare packages (name of packages) as 0.48, because they are built using debian's buildd, the debian/control file decitates how it is named. This name takes the value from debian's repo, and appends the current datetime to the end (-git202311251502).

The because it is checked out though as a repo, it should still have the commit version attached to it in the launcher.
