[Solved] base_anim.nif not found

Post by lorddelta2933 » 10 Aug 2019, 05:14

I'm running on windows 10. Vanilla Morrowind runs fine, but when I try to launch OpenMW I get "Resources 'meshes/base_anim.nif not found, right after it finishes loading bloodmoon.esm. I've tried uninstalling and tested it on both 0.46.0 and 0.45.0. I also tried validating the files though steam, but all were there.

Make sure Morrowind.ini gets imported correctly, check if openmw.cfg isn't almost empty (and probably lacks Morrowind.bsa). If it doesn't, Windows' stupid Program Files security policy might be causing issues. Try to move Morrowind.ini from Morrowind folder in Steam library and import it from somewhere else. There's a button in the launcher that allows to do it easily.

The openmw.cfg wasn't mostly empty, but did lack any mention of morrowind.bsa. I found a .cfg generator, and was about to get the missing lines for it. Seems to run fine now. Thanks for your help.
