And do not forget that actually C11 (not C++) is out already :)

Well, people still use microsoft software... I personally do not understand, but it is a fact...

Thinking about it, it does not make much sense. Ultima IX Redemption is a fully new product, trying to remake morrowind.exe even where it is insane (eg, scripting) would be a waste of resources if the final aim is Ultima IX. Just remake what is strictly needed (and sane)...

You forgot to mention the part in the article that says openmw was already a thing. Would it have died by now if Zini hadn't taken over? Probably, but openmw was still a thing before then.
