Well price ist always subjective. However this seems to be mainly Bethesda/Zenimax price strategy. Steam hasn't been cheaper and the price is stable since years.
However there are some sales from time to time

You could always rip all the CD's in to a folder and create a script to run the installers one after another. Makes re-installs easier.darkbasic wrote:That sounds good, I think I'm going to re-buy Morrowind from gog, I'm tired of using CDs.
Edit: 20€? Too much, they are crazy.

GamesPlanet are an entirely legitimate licenced key retailer, and occasionally they sell Steam versions of Morrowind for as little as €3.50 on their German site. It's never dipped below £7.00 on their UK site, and I don't know if they operate in the US, though.

That's what I will do, since I already own a phisical copy and a steam one which I bought for very cheap.GameEnder wrote:You could always rip all the CD's in to a folder and create a script to run the installers one after another. As you have a retail version, I'd recommend installing the game once with both add-ons and backup the entire installation folder immediately (e.g. as a zipped archive). Then you can just extract it wherever you want and have a completely fresh, standalone installation without having to run the setup any more. You only have to run it with admin rights once if it was not yet installed on the computer, after that it will be fully functional.darkbasic wrote:That's what I will do, since I already own a phisical copy and a steam one which I bought for very cheap.GameEnder wrote:You could always rip all the CD's in to a folder and create a script to run the installers one after another. $20 really is a bit much, but that's Bethesda's price, not GoG's. It costs the same on Steam.

1. Good to know I don't have to install Morrowind in Wine anymore (I don't have anything against Wine, but one less step is always nice )
2. Morrowind is on sale on GOG right now for 12$ dollars. (10$ if you buy the complete series)

I followed this advice, but when I try to extract it innoextract says :Not a supported Inno Setup installer!
any advice?
any advice?
Re: Get data files from GOG setup without wine
You probably need a newer version of innoextract, check if it has the --gog option.
