Re: Alpha blending problem
If you're rooted, you can try to downclock your device or shut down one or two cpu cores. You can even automate this process with the aptly named app "Automate".
I believe OpenMW depends very much on the gpu (?), so a cpu running at 50 or 75% clockspeed shouldn't have too much impact on performance. I mean, 4x msaa and 4x anisotropy are sufficient on a 5 or 6" screen, right?
Btw, which device are you using?

Re: Alpha blending problem
DDS is 100% legal to use, it is the (de)compression algo s3tc that is patented.
That means, for the next 2 years[1]... it is illegal to decompress s3tc images/textures in some countries. After that, if the patent isn't renewed, then the patent would expire and these tools can be used and shipped with OpenMW.

Re: Alpha blending problem
I think this would be more interesting to have going into OpenMW itself since it effects more platforms than Android, RapberryPi for example.sandstranger wrote:I see , then I will not finish this feature for the next 2 years
We can do the work, but it would have to sit in an apart branch for 2 years.
Re: Alpha blending problem
On the other hand, software patents are illegal in a lot of countries ;)
