Your suggestion of joining OpenMW actually seams attractive
to me now. Even though I am still intending to finish my own
project someday (just for the sake of doing so), the
progress in OpenMW is quite impressive as well, and
considering that I want to see at least one of these
projects getting finished, I can imagine helping out the
(friendly) competition. I have to admit that I have not
looked into details on what OpenMW/Ogre can do and what it
can\'t, so it will take some time to get a detailed look into
it. On the other hand, I am planing to do more work on
things that do not depend on the renderer, so this should be
of some use for OpenMW as well. I'll look into this after my
own new release is out of the door.
Good news everyone!

Good news everyone!
I recently exchanged some emails with Mark Siewert, sole developer of Crystal Scrolls. After taking an extended hiatus from his project he recently returned to it and should have a new version out tonight. But starting either tomorrow or the next few days he'll be registering at OpenMW and joining the team! Here's some of his thoughts from a few days ago.
Re: Good news everyone!
Great news indeed! Nice to have someone aboard who knows his stuff. And maybe we can help him out with Crystal Scrolls after Mark helps us finish 1.0

We can do more as one team.

Re: Good news everyone!
I can't code, but I can talk to people and ask for their help.
Mark's a knowledgable programmer who can help in design decisions and bug squashing. He'll bring code and concepts from The Crystal Scrolls project to OpenMW and he'll have a team of programmers to bounce ideas of off.
There is another piece of collaboration going on as Jhooks and gus explore Aedra's physics implementation. I wonder if Tom from Aedra would answer questions they have. But now that we have terrain loading it would be nice to have better physics implemented. I tried a recent version of Project Aedra and it is already fun wandering around and messing with the player speed.
As development accelerates, which I hope it will, on OpenMW towards beta; Tom from Aedra can always dive into the OpenMW code for reference.
It's a situation everyone benefits from.
