Website design proposal(s)

What do you guys think:

Constructive criticism encouraged. Also, I'm not sure if we can use that image? It's Morrowind concept art...

1. Using any kind of original MW art is probably not a good idea. Not even concept art.

2. there is no point in having the URL on the web page (OpenMW.org). Use the project's name instead: OpenMW.

3. The unused area is too big compared to the area with content.

4. While we don't necessary need a lot of colour, pure black and white won't work.

5. The design should better support a wider navigation bar. We will need at least a couple more menu items and I am not sure if that would look good with the current design. Also there is absolutely no point in providing a link to google.

Haha, the google link was just a placeholder. ;) I'll start over without any Morrowind concept art.

How's about this:

Definitely still working on it, but let me know if it seems like steps in a good direction. Also, that's a game screenshot used at the top. Think that's ok...?

For the main page? Lovely. We will have to go for a different colour scheme on the forum though. White text on dark background is kinda questionable when prolonged reading is involved.

Actualy I like white (maybe not 100% white but gray or pale orange) text on black background.

But the moon is not that good: it's rendered by MW engine using MW art files and this could be the legal problem.

Besides my first thought when I looked at it was: "Open Doom 3 or Open Orion?". :D

I'd be down for a consistent look across the whole site. Themeing the forum is going to be a pain, so I'll want to start with a pre-existing theme and go from there. Lighter themes are probably way more common than dark ones, so I'll try to take this draft and invert the color scheme.

Glad we like this one better though. ;)
