Building openmw 0.46 from source on linux

Post by LoneWolf » 03 May 2020, 15:23

I'm considering to build openmw 0.46 from source to test it out on archlinux .

2 questions :

- openmw branch / tag
It looks like I should checkout https://gitlab.com/OpenMW/openmw/-/tree/openmw-46 , is that correct ?

- openscenegraph
For openscenegraph there are several options :
openscenegraph 3.6.5
https://github.com/OpenMW/osg/commits/3.4
https://github.com/OpenMW/osg/commits/O ... eGraph-3.6

Which do you recommend ?

If you're on Ubuntu, OSG from our PPA is your best bet. Otherwise, the upstream OpenSceneGraph-3.6 branch (there's a minor incompatibility with their 3.6.5 release) or our 3.4 branch should be good.

Thanks, decided to go with upstream branch.

Enabled all shadows and like what I see in quick test.

There is the openscenegraph-openmw-git AUR package for what's considered the best version of OSG to use with OpenMW (Keep in mind the tweak to the PKGBUILD that is listed in the comments on the AUR listing.
