Crosshairs too big?

Is there a way to reduce the size of the crosshairs, or remove them altogether?

Try to use 0.46. IIRC, I added texture rescaling for crosshairs (but not for cursors) several months ago.

How would you go about doing that? I installed 0.46 but don't see anything on the menu.
I can disable the crosshairs completely, but not reduce it. Or is it done with a config file?
