Path to saves

Post by kajsakajsa »

I'm new to OpenMw (ver 0.44.0) and I would like to change the place where my save files are. I have a small C:/drive and a large D:/ and my game is installed on the D:/ drive and I would also like to have my save games there too. Is it possible to change the path? and how do I do that?

OpenMW stores its saves in the 'My Games' subdirectory of your Documents folder, just like a lot of other games do these days. Right now, there's no way to redirect it from there, but Windows does let you change the location of your Documents folder, which has the same effect.

I highly recommend this as well. I keep my system drive separate from my general data as well for many reasons, but mostly because SSDs are expensive and mass storage on HDDs is cheap. If you're not sure how to do this, I think this explains it pretty clearly: https://www.pcworld.com/article/3025345 ... ition.html

Note: if you're not on Win 10, he has links to 7 and 8 as well.
