openmw.org

Im recording using OBS game capture, but OpenMW crashes everytime I start recording. There is no other way to record using OBS, even OBS windows capture do not work ( does not show the game exe in the dropdown ) .
I remember being able to record OpenMW back in version 0.41. Something has changed?

Are there any alternatives that we can use to record the game?

On Linux, I use Kazam and it works.

Something definitely has changed, I have downloaded and installed version 0.41 and tried using OBS, and there is no crash. Oh boy, it worked nicely.
What had cause newer OpenMW version to stopped working with OBS? Should I report this as a bug? I believe it should because it was not present in previous version.
Or can anybody propose a workaround?

Can you test 0.42, 0.43 and 0.44 to help pin point in what release (time slice) to look?

Tested. Only version 0.44 has the problem. Previous versions don't. I'm using the latest nightly btw.

It's OBS's buggy GL hooks. But any change in OpenMW's behavior here would be because of an updated dependency.

Is a fix possible on OpenMW side?

Hmm. Works on my machine. Using Windows 7 in this case. Wonder why the difference.

I see. Im using windows 8.1.

Okay, its either my computer or OpenMW.. because I tried to record using Xsplit and OpenMW crashes as well. Previous versions do not crash
