Linux Downgrading OpenMW
Linux Downgrading OpenMW
Hey all. Got a predicament with OpenMW v. 0.41.0 on my Linux Ubuntu 14.04. Crashes on startup after playing blue screen intro. This is not a bug report, merely a question: How do I downgrade back to 0.40.0 so I can continue playing my favorite game? I upgraded to 41 using the terminal and updating with the PPA. I have been unable to find a way to downgrade back and have even tried building from a daily source code update. Every day its updated I try and they do not compile. So, downgrade?

Use ppa_purge, it should downgrade openmw for you:

Re: Linux Downgrading OpenMW
PPA purge will only remove openmw from my OS as I obtained it originally from the PPA. I've configured my OS to remove unused packages, so anything that openmw had before I upgraded was wiped clean and reinstalled completely.

Then ppa_purge will also remove the PPA, so when you ask to install the package again, it will the distro's openmw version and not the PPA's.

Re: Linux Downgrading OpenMW
I reckon, on Linux, you could build OpenMW from sources. Then you may git checkout on any revision you like and rebuild.
