Bug with follow me (can't reproduce)

I come across a strange issue with a NPC not been able to follow me anymore, I have provided two saves, follow bug, that has the NPC in question, a woman looking for her husband outside of the ruins, and my quick save before I met her. (but I tried to reproduce this with the quick save and couldn't.

my steps are, (from the quick save) after I kill everyone inside the ruin on the top level, I unlock the door where the NPC is, I then get her to follow me to the exit, (but not outside) I tell her to wait, then I go to the lower level inside the ruin, I kill a guy there and unlock some chests, after that I levitate back up. I then go back to the woman and ask her to follow me, she does not. (bugged save)

if I could reproduce this, I would have this in the tracker, but I'm unable too, but wondering if there is a hidden trigger bug or something that is stopping the woman from following me?

I did have plugins enabled official lot and the unoffical patch) but disabled them and saved without the plugins.

I have also included logs, I deleted the logs that were previously generated and loaded up the effected save and quit, (but not sure if that was the right thing to do?

but anyway, not sure what else to add, this probably could be a once in the blue moon, hard to pinpoint and fix bug, but posting it here in case there is more to this. I will let the devs decide, if you need more info, please ask.

on the subject of pathing issues, I'm also seeing strange issues with the netch monsters, and the cliffracers, they seem to be spinning in circles, also seen some other NPCs spin in circles, not seen this in early builds, I will upload a save which you see 3 netches spinning, not sure if its connected, but worth mentioning.

would that be better in the tracker as a separate issue? as I have come across this a few times in this build.

Took longer than expected (nasty little bug). I've found the cause for the issue and was able to reproduce it using your Quicksave, as follows:
- Lead her out of the shrine
- Lead her back into the shrine
- Tell her to wait here (works)
- Tell her to follow again (does not work)

Fix is here. It will not fix the broken save (follow_bug) but will prevent this from showing up with new saves.

You can report a bug for the spinning netches. NPCs running in circles is already covered by #2229.

no worries about the broken save, strange, I swear I didn't lead her outside, but I guess I must have done, I already completed the quest using the quick save, but glad you were able to fix it, I will try and repo this this the save and confirm, so was very much a good idea to report this, I know this should have been in the tracker, but I just wanted to make sure that I could reproduce the bug before I did add it into the tracker and I guess I didn't lead her outside in my later attempts. I will try this again with the save and report back.

could reproduce this using the steps you gave, I must have exited with her then thought she wasn't with me, (maybe I went partly through her? and thought she was still inside, so I went back inside, then told her to wait, then it breaks)

so yeah a nasty little bug, good it's fixed now.

I can confirm with the latest nightly build this bug is indeed fixed, sorry if my steps weren't exact, but awesome job on finding and fixing this issue, fix works like a charm.

just noticed you closed the bug that I just submitted, I had a feeling the fix was the cause, yeah, better wait for the overhaul then, good thing I noticed this, otherwise it probably might have messed things up a great deal.

just a heads up then people, because of some escort quests like the above, that takes the NPC in and out of buildings.

its probably not really a big deal for every escort quest, but worth mentioning.
