3D Editing - 1st person view

How is the 1st person view meant to work in terms of mouse and key actions?

For example, is dragging with the left button of a mouse meant to rotate the camera around a point in the cell somewhere?

Should moving the camera in the y direction (up/down) be allowed or is that for "free" camera mode?

Would a small widget showing the current position of the fulcrum be useful? If that widget can be dragged around to move the fulcrum then it might make it easier to navigate around the scene.

I don't know if any of these ideas can be implemented, but would like to understand how the end users think/prefer.

Note: The implementation of the 1st person camera is currently broken. I meant to look into it, but well ... stuff.

Yes.

Yes. Very much broken right now.

Don't understand what you mean by that. But I don't plan to add any additional functionality to the 1st person mode. It is complete and usable IMO (minus the bugs).
