Not supported mods

Post by ajira2 »

Hi, I'm interested in this mod, go fletch:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0h3jasb6KB8

And this mod, Quick Looting, Fallout 4 style: https://www.nexusmods.com/morrowind/mods/46283

But they are not supported by OpenMW and author says "-OpenMW is not supported and cannot be supported probably ever, sorry."

There is something that can be done to support this mods now or in the future or is completely impossible? What is exactly the problem? (for noobs, please).

Thank you in advance. :?:

They require the MWSE-Lua beta branch, as they are scripted in Lua, rather than the vanilla mwscript. MWSE works by hacking the Morrowind executable, which OpenMW never touches. Lua scripting support in OpenMW is slated for 0.47.0, and though it won't work identically to MWSE, it's the first step to enabling mods like this.

Can you please point me to the source? There has been a lot of debate around it and it didn't know they reached an agreement.

It's not going to land for 0.47, we're busy polishing other things off first. I would love to be wrong though. :)

Not much debate around it, it just needs to be done and in a way that is tes3mp friendly, which MWSE-Lua is not as it is specific to Morrowind.exe and not to OpenMW/tes3mp which has other requirements.
