Aesthesia Groundcover - grass mod (solved)

Hey Guys,

since 2 days, there is a new grass Mod !https://www.nexusmods.com/morrowind/mods/46377?

First: It works with OpenMW!

Just skipped the Step mit MGE.

Second. The Grass in the distant seems to flicker.

Does anybody has an Idea why?

Groundcover mods are generally not supported, and I don't recommend to rely on the fact that plugin generated by grass autoplacement tools intended to be used solely by MGE XE and its shader can be enabled to be used in the game even without it. It can greatly harm the performance and sometimes game experience (when the grass obstructs the objects on the ground or has collision).

Distant grass flickering sounds like Z-fighting to me.

OK wow, that is an interesting answer.

So you mean, to don't use Grass Mods?

The performance so far is very well.
But the Z-fighting hurts after a while.

The grass is too contrasting and the small contrasting details shimmer because of not very good filtration. I turned on trilinear filtering and in Photoshop I reduced the contrast and brightness of the textures, so the grass does not flicker and fits better into the overall picture.

Hm reduced the contrast and brightness of the textures, But the flickering is maybe less but still there.

I guess i have to wait for an OpenMW Grass Mod.

When saving dds, reduce the sharpness of the mip levels.

How much did you reduce the contrast and brightness?

Can you show me a pic from the result from the Ingame?

Edit: Ok after reduce the shape like crazy, the flickering is just a little. But now playable. Thanks for your help guys!

“You are allowed to use the grass in your mods, recolor and modify it as long as you give credit....Do not redistribute this mod on sites or in packs without permission.”

If you just pack the edited textures, I think you’re fine. You could post on Nexus, or share a Dropbox link or something here.
