Space Engine - is a free space simulation software that lets you explore the universe in three dimensions, starting from planet Earth to the most distant galaxies. Areas of the known universe are represented using actual astronomical data, while regions uncharted by human astronomy are generated procedurally. Millions of galaxies, trillions of stars, countless planets!

No linux, mac or *BSD version?
Re: Space Engine
Linux version will be later, but Space Engine seems works fine on Wine.

Re: Space Engine
Seems similiar to the program Celestia but a little more indepth. Celestia uses actual data as well, but would probably be considered as somewhat barebones to this. The stars and known planets are there in 3d space, but it doesnt go much further than that. Nor does it by any means contain every known star as far as I am aware.

Re: Space Engine
I see all these engines. Its like the wild west for engines. You have some that do one thing well but not other things and you have some that would be cool if combined.
At some point we need and End All Engine.

Re: Space Engine
To be fair, Space Engine looks more like a sim/game that calls itself "Space Engine" than a framework, which is what most "engines" are.
