What do you mean? OpenMW CS and Launcher have supported Qt5 for ages now.

The 0.43 bug tracker now only lists 5 open bugs! 0.43 looks like it will be a good release.

openMW launcher is currenlty showing version 0.41 but apt shows:

openmw/xenial,now 0.42.0+git201707271429~ubuntu16.04.1 amd64 [installed]
Reimplementation of The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind

openmw-cs/xenial,now 0.42.0+git201707271429~ubuntu16.04.1 amd64 [installed]
Replacement of The Elder Scrolls Construction Set

openmw-data/xenial,xenial,now 0.42.0+git201707271429~ubuntu16.04.1 all [installed]
Resources for the OpenMW engine

openmw-launcher/xenial,now 0.42.0+git201707271429~ubuntu16.04.1 amd64 [installed]
Launcher for OpenMW using the Qt-Gui-Toolkit

I have http://ppa.launchpad.net/openmw/openmw-daily/ubuntu xenial main added as the repo. Is this the same as the nightly repo? I haven't had a openMW update in what seems like months now.

We support both Qt4 and Qt5. :)

Yes, the dailies won't be updated again until after the next release. Sadly there are 'fixes' in place in Debian which is pulled into the dailies for automation, these fixes are already included in master and of course conflict. So we're waiting this one out, sorry for the inconvenience.

Those are just the issues that are being worked on right now. 0.43.0 might as well be delayed for half of a year and have 50 more closed issues, but this number of open issues doesn't mean that 0.43.0 is 98% done (though it had enough material for a new release for quite some time and really would be 100% done if there weren't some work happenin and a release delay).

OpenMW daily PPA is currently experiencing technical issues and there's no real alternative to get Ubuntu-tailored nightlies... well, you can build OpenMW from the source code.
